Natural touch thanks to the Ivorite keyboard and YUS special action

White keys with an Ivorite surface and black keys in WPC provide a comfortable, slightly absorbent grip, even during long practice sessions. The hammer action, developed specifically for the YUS series, translates every nuance of your playing with precision, supported by three pedals including sostenuto for extra expressive range.

Two concert grand pianos in one instrument – the SH3 Silent system

Switch on Silent mode and the hammers stop just before the strings: the piano itself stays acoustically silent, while non-contact electromagnetic sensors capture your playing and reproduce it through headphones using binaurally sampled sounds from two concert grand pianos – the Yamaha CFX and the Bösendorfer Imperial. With 256-note polyphony and 25 voices plus 480 XG playback voices, electric piano, harpsichord and organ sounds are also on hand.

Wirelessly connected with the Smart Pianist app

Bluetooth Audio/MIDI connects the YUS5 SH3 wirelessly to the Yamaha Smart Pianist app, letting you control voices, metronome and recordings straight from your smartphone. USB Host & Device, MIDI In/Out and two headphone jacks round out a comprehensive set of connections.
