The ultimate RD experience for the stage

The Roland RD-2000 EX sits at the top of the legendary RD series, distilling decades of Roland piano expertise into an uncompromising stage piano. It is made for pianists who demand the very best on stage: two completely independent sound engines, two factory-installed V-Piano Expansions, a highly responsive keyboard and a well-thought-out control layout make it a versatile tool for live performance, studio work and demanding accompaniment.

PHA-50 keyboard with an authentic playing feel

The 88 keys of the PHA-50 keyboard combine wood and resin in a hybrid construction with an escapement mechanism and textured Ebony/Ivory surfaces. The result is a touch that comes remarkably close to an acoustic grand piano – with the durability an instrument needs for everyday use on stage.

V-Piano with two additional expansions

V-Piano Technology models the complex sound and interactive response of an acoustic grand piano down to the finest detail, with full polyphony. On the RD-2000 EX, two further V-Piano Expansions come factory-installed alongside the core instrument: “German Concert” for the powerful, brilliant character of a German concert grand, and “Essential Upright” for the warm, intimate sound of an upright piano. That gives you three modelled acoustic pianos for a wide range of musical styles.

SuperNATURAL engine for every other sound

The second, 128-voice SuperNATURAL engine delivers electric pianos, organs, strings, brass and synth sounds – including recreations of the classic Roland RD-1000 and MKS-20. Over 1,100 tones and 100 scene memories ensure the right sound is ready for every song. Two Wave Expansion slots let you load additional sound libraries from Roland Axial, including sounds from earlier RD models.

Total control in real time

9 illuminated sliders and 8 knobs with LED status indicators give direct access to sounds and effects without digging through menus. The onboard effects section – with modulation, amp simulation, reverb, delay, compressor and equalizer algorithms plus recreations of vintage analogue effects such as the BOSS CE-1 Chorus Ensemble and Roland Dimension D – rounds off the sound shaping. 8 freely assignable zones and Apple MainStage support let you combine internal sounds seamlessly with external sound modules and software instruments.
