For the back and sides, Martin uses a cocobolo-pattern High-Pressure Laminate (HPL) — striking to look at, and it makes the body highly resistant to temperature and humidity swings, ideal for travel, the studio, or the living room.

Ergonomics taken further: the Remastered upgrade

In this new X Series generation, Martin has noticeably refined playability. The fingerboard now features a gently beveled comfort edge that sits naturally under the hand. Paired with the flat Performing Artist neck profile with High Performance Taper and a shortened 632.5 millimetre scale length, the 00-X2E offers a smooth, low-tension playing feel — great for fingerstyle players and smaller hands.
