Concert grand technology inside an upright

The 88 keys are the longest in the entire Yamaha piano line and feature Ivorite, a material developed by Yamaha to replicate the touch and feel of natural ivory. Hammers and felts meet the specification of the flagship Yamaha CFX concert grand, and the SU7 is the only Yamaha upright fitted with agraffe guides for a precisely defined string length.

Full, warm tone and a robust build

A premium European spruce soundboard - the same material used in Yamaha concert grands - delivers a dynamic, balanced tone. Six back posts add extra stability and longevity to the cabinet, while the dual-stage lid with hidden hinge gives the instrument an elegant, clean look.

SH3 Silent System: practise quietly, without compromise

Activate Silent Mode and optical sensors capture every nuance of your playing, reproducing the sound in high definition through headphones - the hammers never touch the strings. 25 voices are on board, led by binaural samples of the Yamaha CFX concert grand and the Boesendorfer Imperial. With 256-note polyphony, 480 ensemble voices, 12 drum kits, 20 rhythm styles, plus Bluetooth and USB connectivity, the SU7 is easy to control from the panel or the Yamaha Smart Pianist app.
