Thanks to the integrated SC3 Silent system, it combines the warm, full sound of a classic upright piano with the freedom to practise silently through headphones at any time – ideal for families, beginners and ambitious pianists.

Powerful Sound from a Stable Construction

Five braces support the solid soundboard and give the instrument additional strength as well as excellent playing enjoyment. The result is an outstandingly brilliant, carrying sound that effortlessly fills even larger rooms. The 88 keys with acrylic resin surfaces (white) and phenolic resin surfaces (black) additionally provide a pleasant, secure playing feel.

Silent System for Silent Practice in the Best Sound Quality

Activate the SC3 Silent system and the hammers stop just before the strings – the piano itself remains silent, while sensors capture your playing precisely and reproduce it through headphones. The digital sound comes from binaurally recorded samples of the Yamaha CFX and Bösendorfer Imperial concert grand pianos with 256-note polyphony and 12 voices. Technologies such as Virtual Resonance Modeling and Grand Expression Modeling ensure that the digital playing experience comes remarkably close to the acoustic original.

Connected for Modern Piano Practice

Via Bluetooth Audio/MIDI, the b3 SC3 connects wirelessly to the Yamaha Smart Pianist app; USB ports (to Device and to Host) as well as an AUX input round off the connectivity. You can capture your own interpretations via MIDI or directly as a WAV audio file – for up to 80 minutes of playing time per recording.
