Rich acoustic sound meets modern silence – the Kawai K-500 ATX4

With the Kawai K-500 ATX4 in Ebony Polish, you bring home a professional-grade upright piano that combines the full, warm sound of a genuine acoustic instrument with all the benefits of a modern silent system. At 130 cm tall, the K-500 belongs to the professional upright class, making it ideal for the ambitious pianist as well as for teaching and accompaniment in music schools and conservatories. Built at Kawai's renowned Ryuyo factory in Japan, it reflects generations of craftsmanship.

Millennium III action and duplex scaling for outstanding control

At the heart of the K-500 is the Millennium III action, made from ABS-Carbon: lightweight, exceptionally durable, and known for its precise, fast response. Extended keys with a NEOTEX surface provide a secure grip even with damp fingers, while duplex scaling adds extra resonance to the treble register. The solid, tapered spruce soundboard – a technique borrowed from Kawai's own grand piano construction – gives the sound power, warmth and depth.

Play silently with SK-EX sampling and Bluetooth

The ATX4 system turns the K-500 into an Anytime piano: practise through headphones any time of day without disturbing anyone. The Integrated Hammer Sensing System (IHSS) optically measures every hammer movement and translates your playing with fine dynamic detail onto the SK-EX concert grand sampling from Shigeru Kawai. With 256-note polyphony, 90 voices and Bluetooth Audio/MIDI, you connect effortlessly to a tablet, smartphone or the free PianoRemote app.

Your benefits at a glance:

  • Powerful concert sound: solid spruce soundboard and duplex scaling for fullness and brilliance.
  • Precise touch control: Millennium III ABS-Carbon action with NEOTEX key surface.
  • Practise any time: ATX4 silent system with SK-EX sampling and two headphone jacks.
  • Modern music-making: Bluetooth Audio/MIDI and the PianoRemote app for sound selection, recording and metronome.
  • Made in Japan: craftsmanship from Kawai's historic Ryuyo factory.
