The Kawai K-600 belongs to the top class of concert upright pianos: at 134 cm tall with a massive 1.53 m² solid spruce soundboard, it can rival a baby grand piano in projection. In its AURES 2 version, it combines this grown acoustic foundation with a digital hybrid system — ideal for recital halls, teaching at conservatories and music schools, and for quiet practice at home.

Powerful acoustics from thoughtful construction

The tapered spruce soundboard is held in its crown by 12 ribs and supported by 6 back posts and a continuous cast-iron plate, ensuring efficient energy transfer and a powerful, projecting tone. The double duplex scaling and agraffes on keys 1 to 51 add a rich, brilliant overtone structure. The Millennium III action with Neotex key surfaces and mahogany hammer cores transmits every touch nuance precisely and reliably.

Aures 2: grand piano sound at the touch of a button

The Aures 2 system mutes the acoustic piano sound and instead delivers SK-EX Rendering sound generation — a high-resolution multi-channel sampling of the legendary Shigeru Kawai SK-EX concert grand combined with modern resonance modelling. The Integrated Hammer Sensing System (IHSS) captures every touch dynamic of the real hammer action, while four transducers mounted directly on the soundboard make it resonate naturally — with no conventional speakers involved. Bluetooth Audio and MIDI let you connect the piano wirelessly to your smart device, for example for practice apps or music playback.
