For the CX Series, Yamaha completely redeveloped the hammer heads, drawing on the findings from the development of the flagship CFX concert grand. The felt is individually matched to the size of the C7X – the result is an extended spectrum of tone colours, from brilliant attack to warm, singing depth, without losing the characteristic CX sound.

Soundboard of Hokkaido Spruce and Precise Bridge Construction

The soundboard is made of carefully selected spruce from Yamaha's own Kitami mill on Hokkaido and is reinforced with spruce ribs. The two-part bridge construction transmits the string vibrations to the soundboard with particular clarity, while the frame cast using the V-Pro process ensures lasting tuning stability.
