Description
Description
A warm, woody tone from the Denner workshop – the tenor recorder for demanding ensemble playing
With the Mollenhauer 5406 Denner tenor recorder in pearwood, you play an instrument from the long-established Mollenhauer manufacture, whose sound and bore are modelled on the original instruments of Jacob Denner (1681–1735) in Nuremberg and Copenhagen. The tenor in c is aimed at advanced players seeking a carrying, singing wooden tone and a reliable response, both in consort and in solo repertoire.
Pearwood for a warm, soft tone
The light pearwood is harvested at particular times of year and carefully seasoned. The result is this recorder's characteristically warm, soft yet carrying tone. The surface treated with plant-based oils and the finely worked decorative rings give the instrument a refined, hand-crafted appearance.
Baroque fingering with double hole – responsive and stable
The recorder is built with baroque fingering and has a double hole without a key. The fully undercut tone holes provide remarkable tonal stability and an agile, quick response across all registers – ideal for virtuosic music of every era. The three-part construction allows fine tuning via the tuning slide.
Your benefits at a glance:
- Warm pearwood tone: soft, singing and yet carrying in the ensemble.
- Agile response: quick, secure response across all registers for virtuosic playing.
- Tonally stable: fully undercut tone holes for balanced intonation.
- Manufacture quality: designed after the Denner originals, made by Mollenhauer.
- Refined looks: finely worked decorative rings, surface treated with plant-based oils.
