The eight pitch fields of the Sela Melody Tongue Drum 10 are based on the Hirajoshi scale, which is derived from the Japanese string instrument koto. This creates typical Asian sounds when playing this tongue drum, which enchants the listener and takes them to the land of the rising sun.

Since all notes on the Melody Tongue Drum 10 fit together harmoniously, a melodious melody is always created when playing without any wrong notes.
